Three-Volume Companion Book to Absolute Image: The Structure of Consciousness in Visual Form

Book titled – Art, Consciousness, and Maharishi Vedic Science (format 8½ x 11 inches, 1000 pages total).

Overview of the two companion books:

The purpose of the two companion books described above is to provide a new framework for evaluating the discipline of the visual arts. It seeks to finally make the discipline complete in absolute terms and on a scientific basis both in theory and practice.

The approach has been to re-build the entire discipline of the visual arts from the ground up based upon new and complete science of consciousness – Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology. This science defines the unified field of natural law recently glimpsed by modern quantum field theory as a field of pure unbounded consciousness.

Maharishi Vedic Science establishes that this field of unbounded consciousness is our own simplest form of awareness at the source of thought deep within. Moreover, it gives direct subjective access to that field of pure intelligence or pure creativity (pure consciousness) within human awareness through its simple, natural Vedic technologies of consciousness. These Vedic technologies of consciousness include the Transcendental Meditation program and its advanced techniques.

These two books together describe the structures and functions of consciousness as defined in Maharishi Vedic Science and relates them directly to the world of visual aesthetics. In this study reference is made to the Absolute Image Series of Paintings.

In the context of these books, the paintings are not presented as definitively absolute in themselves. They are strictly used to help establish the principle of an ‘Absolute Image’ at the foundation of our visual aesthetic reality.

The books present a re-evaluation of the three basic constituents of the visual arts defined as, 1) the artist, 2) the art-object and, 3) the viewer of art. In the light of the total knowledge of consciousness, the discussion unfolds step-by-step the cosmic potential inherent within all three constituents. It reveals that the artist, the art-object, and the viewer of art are all infinite in their potential.

The grand conclusion is that applying the total knowledge of natural law contained in Maharishi Vedic Science to the discipline can easily and systematically develop this infinite cosmic potential of the visual arts.
